During July and August 2026, I had the opportunity to work on the costumes for Des chaussures dans le frigo, a short film written and directed by Swiss filmmaker Florina Rotenberg-Carmignani.
Set in the 2000s, the film follows Florian, a young boy who suddenly finds himself taking on the role of caregiver for his mother, Véra, after his father leaves. While trying to maintain the appearance of a normal childhood—with his friends, at school, and through his love of cycling and science-fiction films—Florian is confronted with responsibilities far beyond his age.
Working on the costumes allowed me to explore the visual language of the early 2000s while reflecting the contrast between Florian’s childhood and the adult role he is forced to assume at home. The costumes became a way of expressing his emotional world and the gradual tension between the child he is and the adult he is expected to become.
The film is produced by Swiss production company Point Prod and is inspired by true events.
